Of Blood and Bone — by Nora Roberts
Well, story lovers, Mirabella has her haunted candlelight and pumpkin spice... and I have dragons. 🐉
This week, I curled up with my favorite blanket (and an unreasonable amount of sass) to listen to Of Blood and Bone by Nora Roberts — the second installment in her Chronicles of The One trilogy.
You may remember last week’s Year One, that charming little apocalypse where humanity imploded in record time. (Honestly, it’s what happens when people don’t listen to their cats.) But in this chapter, a new generation rises from the ashes — led by Fallon Swift, a girl destined to restore balance between light and dark. There’s magic, training, courage, and yes… dragons. And you know how I feel about dragons. 🐾🔥
Fallon is fierce, grounded, and gloriously imperfect — exactly the kind of heroine worth following into the fire. The world around her may be cracked, but she carries her own light into it.
If you enjoy tales of survival, sorcery, and second chances — or you just like stories that purr with hope after darkness — this one’s worth every minute of listening.
Pair it with a dark oolong or smoky lapsang — something bold enough to stand up to the end of the world (again).
Until next time, my little page-turners,
May your tea stay warm and your dragons never bite.
