Wednesday's Weekly Read

The Watchmaker’s Daughter by C.J. Archer

“Gather ‘round, humans. I’ve clawed my way through another book to bring you a proper recommendation.”

This week I’ve chosen The Watchmaker’s Daughter, a lovely tale set in Victorian London (my preferred era — back when people worshiped cats properly).

Our heroine’s world is turned upside down after the loss of her father, and what follows is a delicious mix of mystery, magical whimsy, and a touch of romance… all wrapped into the start of a 13-book series with multiple spinoffs.

Yes, thirteen.

Plenty of time for you to get attached to the characters the way you get attached to me.

You’re welcome.

It’s a perfect cozy escape — gentle, atmospheric, and full of heart.

I would call it a coming-of-age story, except humans seem to do that far too late in life… but I digress.

If you're looking for something comforting, charming, and magically adventurous, The Watchmaker’s Daughter is an easy yes.

Pair it with a warm cup of tea, a fuzzy blanket, and — ideally — a loyal cat by your side. Preferably me.
