Double, Double, Books and Trouble - Wednesday's Weekly Read 10/15/25

You may recall that I’ve been working my way through Nora Roberts’ Chronicles of The One series — a delicious blend of prophecy, chaos, and the occasional dragon (my kind of bedtime story).

So naturally, this week’s first recommendation is the grand finale:

The Rise of Magicks by Nora Roberts

The world is still rebuilding after the Doom, magic crackles through the air, and Fallon Swift finally embraces her destiny. It’s powerful, hopeful, and unapologetically fierce — which might be why I see a little of myself in her.

Mirabella’s been eavesdropping (she calls it “listening along”), and I dare say she’s becoming quite the audiobook convert. Which brings me to my next bit of mischief…

After convincing her to start listening instead of just reading, I stumbled upon something rather exciting: The Scary Audiobook Sale on Libro.fm!

Naturally, I had to pick up a few extra tales for the season. So, dear readers, this week you’re getting two recommendations — consider it a treat.

🎧 Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix

Imagine being trapped overnight in a haunted IKEA-style superstore. Strange noises. Locked doors. And a growing realization that something in customer service has gone terribly wrong.

It’s darkly funny, wickedly clever, and full of the kind of creeping dread that pairs beautifully with candlelight and a hot cup of tea.

(Or, if you’re me, a nap right as the screaming starts.)

Horrorstör is part of the Scary Audiobook Sale running through November 1st, and both titles are available through our Faebles Bookshop on Libro.fm.

Because truly, Story Lovers — whether it’s prophecy or poltergeists, every tale sounds better when you listen.

Until next time, may your shelves stay spooky and your stories spellbound.
