Dearest reader,
If you’ve stumbled into this little corner of the world in search of enchantment, solace, or simply a strong cup of tea with fewer emotional risks than your last relationship — welcome. You’ve found Faebles Tomes & Teas, and more importantly, me.
I am Lady Mirabella Faebles — Mira, if you’re a friend; My Lady, if you’re feeling dramatic (and really, why wouldn’t you?). I’m the heart and spine behind this traveling Victorian bookshop and tearoom — a moveable feast of used books, loose-leaf teas, and a fair bit of whimsy.
At my side (and frequently in my chair) is Wednesday — my silver-furred, emerald-eyed companion. She's not so much my cat as she is the shop’s silent co-owner and chief critic. She has opinions on everything, particularly your taste in books. She once knocked over an entire display of pirate romance novels. I took it personally. She insists it was a structural accident.
Now, between the tea blending, shelf arranging, and answering the age-old question “Do you have this in hardback?” — I do harbor a secret. One that, if revealed, may very well unravel my dignified image and cause quite the stir among the literary purists.
I am, you see, irrevocably, passionately, and hopelessly addicted… to romantasy novels.
Yes — those glorious, trope-laden, slow-burn, dagger-to-the-throat-and-then-kiss-me kind of stories. Star-crossed lovers. Hidden crowns. Enemies with smoldering eyes and emotionally unavailable pasts. Give me fae courts, cursed heirs, morally gray men who read poetry — I’ll take it all with a cup of Earl Grey and a scandalized blush.
I tell people I read them for the plot. Which is technically true. The many, many plots.
But I digress.
Faebles Tomes & Teas is my heart made tangible — a sanctuary for stories, tea, and the occasional swoon. This journal shall serve as our shared fireside: a place for musings, recommendations, recipes, and confessions like the one you just read.
So steep something warm, find your coziest nook, and let’s turn the page together.
After all,“Within every leaf, a journey. Within every page, a spell.”
With affection (and possibly a fae prince or two),
Lady Mirabella Faebles
Proprietress of Faebles Tomes & Teas
P.S. Should Wednesday ever begin posting here herself, do not be alarmed. Just… don’t disagree with her. It’s safer that way.
